Here's the truth, the Hornets should stay in Oklahoma. Look at the improvement the team has shown here and look at the fan support. Now, I feel sorry for New Orleans, but should we begin to send pro teams into an environment that most likely not be able to support them? Just think about it, Oklahoma is proving a reliable fan base. Why rob them of a good thing, move another team to New Orleans when they are ready for it, not anytime sooner!

Simply taking the Hornets on a permanent basis would constitute robbing New Orleans of a good thing. How about returning the Hornets to New Orleans when that market is ready (presumably 2007-08 season) and granting an expansion franchise to Oklahoma City instead? Then nobody would be robbed.

For now OKC is good for the Hornets. But they are New Orleans' team and they should return there in time. I suggest you read my latest column where I talk about just this.

Even though the Hornets have said that they will return to New Orleans, my bet is that they will be moved elsewhere after that season. Louisiana has not proved to be a successful NBA location, both pre-katrina and post-katrina. You cant argue with the attendance numbers before and after Katrina. The Hornets even moved half the games that were scheduled for Baton Rouge back to OKC because of the lack of support in Louisiana...and half of those that did attend had FREE tickets.
