Malta has chosen the figure of Christ for its coins. A phone poll decided that "The Baptism of Christ" would be stamped on the euro. Now, what about us getting a pic of Jesus on a dollar? Going once...?

I would strongly oppose Jesus appearing on any U.S. currency as Jesus is not a symbol of this nation nor the diversity of cultures from which it is has been built. That being said, there would be no conflict as regards the issue of 'separation of church and state' if Jesus were to be emblazoned upon U.S. currency because our nation does not own nor print its own currency. That distinction belongs to the Federal Reserve, which (though most people do not know it) is not an agency of the U.S. government but rather it is a privately held corporation.
I disagree, Jesus is a symbol for our nation. It doesn't take much research to find that to be the case. Many explorers were Catholic and in their pursuit to redeem mankind, came to America to share their faith. Also, many of our founding fathers used Jehovah's (old and new testament) teachings as the cornerstone for their decisions during the crucial forming of our government.
